"A SOLO FOR TWO VOICES" : Mary Becker Weiss

Press Release: “A Solo for Two Voices” by Brunswick artist Mary Becker Weiss is an evocative exhibition of mixed media and encaustic pieces reflecting the isolation, fear and helplessness of those with no voice. Mary has worked for years to advocate for victims of domestic violence, to facilitate support groups in Hospice’s Grieving Children’s Program, and as an art facilitator who works with creative storytellers with dementia and varying levels of cognitive abilities. In Mary's work through the years, art has been a powerful tool for self expression, emancipation and empowerment.

"He Didn't Mean It" and "Shhh! He's Coming Back!” are two of three of my submissions accepted for Harlow Gallery's "It Takes a Community: Transforming Violence I Exhibition” which is scheduled for October 2-24, 2015. I know it's early yet, but I wanted to encourage everyone to do what they can to rally around this important exhibition, which will help support Harlow Gallery and the Family Violence Project.
